Technical
SPOT the Camera ..CMOS Camera Lens
- Provides a 70º viewing angle
- Auto iris lens – requires a light source to view image
- Swivel Mount base
- Can be positioned to view what matters, when it matters
- The camera can be re-positioned and moved from room-to-room
- The unit is mobile –take it on holiday with you
- PIR (Passive Infra-Red)
- Regulates the field of view from a thermal aspect (detects heat). Any change in the field of view initiates an event
- VMD (Video Motion Detection)
- Regulates the field of view from a pixelation aspect. Any change in pixelation will initiate an event
- The PIR and VMD work together – if there is a movement, but no change in pixelation no signal will be generated.
- This prevents the number of false alarms.
- The settings of the PIR and VMD are sensitive and can be set up accordingly at registration when calling the SPOT call centre.
- The PIR and VMD is functional up to 6 metres.
- The red LED will display when VMD is detected.
- IP44 Rating
- The enclosure is sealed at point of manufacture
- The GPRS SIM card is inserted at point of manufacture and cannot be removed
- Any attempt to break open or access the components will destroy the circuitry in the camera. The GPRS SIM will also be rendered useless.
- The camera is “splash-proof” not water proof – it has limited outdoor use. It cannot take direct sun-light or direct rain. Install it with some form of shelter.
- There are no in-put or out-put connections.
- The components on board are RS232 or serial-based

- All of this in the event of a power failure
- On-Board Memory
- Flash as well as RAM (8MB) is on board to capture images for pre-event activation.
- The camera is in a constant video capture sequence of 4 x 15second frames. When the camera receives an instruction to view, that 15 sec clip is downloaded to the server and then transmitted to the receivers cell phone for as long as the call is kept open (max 10 minutes).

Spot Warranty
Spot has a 24 month warranty against workmanship and component failure.
This excludes:
Any form of tampering.
Any failure as a result of operating the camera outside the guidelines given in the instruction manual.
The camera must be returned in all instances in the original packaging with all components.
Out of the Box Warranty
If the camera cannot be enabled by the end user because of a manufacturing malfunction at the time of set up this will qualify for a swop out.
The camera must be returned by the end user to the distributor in it’s original packaging. This must be done within 7 days of purchase by the user.
In Warranty – 24months
The camera must be returned by the end user in it’s original packaging to the point of sale. The camera or status of repair will be returned by RSS to the point of sale within 72 hours of receipt, for the distributor to return to the user.
Out of Warranty
All costs for repair will be borne by the user after 24 months from date of purchase.
